Steven, what is your favorite hike?
Le col du Soufre with no doubt! It is quite a long hike in a high-mountain glacier environment! I particularly like the fact that you walk along Glacier de Gebroulaz and recognise immediately the picturesque Col du Soufre thanks to its characteristic yellow rocks, which is quite unusual for Meribel. Our tips : you can spend a night at the heart of Vanoise National Park in Refuge du Saut, which is roughly located half way between Mottaret and Col du Soufre.

With whom would you go to Col du Soufre?
Someone sporty! You need to be in good shape to endure the 7-to-8-hour hike for the round-trip if you choose not to sleep at the refuge.

What about you Marie-Claude, what is your favorite spot?
I prefer taking small walks than long hikes, so I would go to Tueda natural reserve in Mottaret. It is really accessible to everyone (wheelchairs, buggies etc.) and the surroundings are idyllic, especially at sunset when the mountains reflect on the lake. I just love it! And you can have lunch at the restaurant du Lac or Refuge du PlanCheck out the trail map.

Who would you take around the lake?
The natural reserve of Tueda is really accessible to everyone. You can simply take a 30-minute walk around the lake or discover the alpine flora and fauna on the botanic trail. This year, there is even an "Explor'Game" , ideal for an afternoon with the kids!

Alexis, where do you like to spend the week-end?
My must-visit spot is the Rosiere lake in Courchevel 1650. As you get there, you realise this is a special place that will charm everyone. Just like around lake Tueda, you can have a simple walk as it is easy, or discover local flora and fauna along the botanic trail. If you walk for 45 minutes, you will get to the beautiful Cascade des Poux. It is also the starting point of several other trails, such as the one leading to Dent du Villard, which is a must-see in Courchevel valley.

Who would you take there?
It is a great place to spend the day with the family. You can have a pic-nic (or even a barbecue!), have a walk with your children (buggies can be used), go for a hike... and even via-ferrata for the bravest!

Audrey, talk about your favorite walk!
In the 3 Valleys, it is Les Cretes trail (the ridge line between Meribel and Belleville valleys), going through Pas de Cherferie and Roc de Fer. There is so much to see: great summits (Dent de Burgin, Aiguille du Fruit etc.), snow-capped mountains (Mont Blanc!), great flora, small lakes etc. You can either walk from Meribel-Mottaret or use Tougnete 1 and 2 lifts. The trail follows the ridge and goes down either to Meribel (roughly 3h30 to Meribel from the top of the lifts) or to les Allues (roughly 5h).

Who would you walk along with?
I would take anyone who wants to feel breath-taken by the view and not the elevation! No need to be a great walker, you can follow the 4WD tracks and take a loop to go back down to Meribel using the lifts.

Gloria, where do you like to go for a walk?
The unmissable walk to Refuge du Saut through Lac des fees, of course!
It is THE must-do walk from Meribel-Mottaret. You can see the Aiguille du Fruit from the bottom, get closer to Mont Vallon, and as it is the start of many walks towards Vanoise national park, you can keep walking if you feel like. Just look for the Lac des fees as you cross the Plateau de la Plagne, we usually see it once we have passed it!

Tips : there are plenty of marmots along the way, just do not feed or touch them!

Who do you go Refuge du Saut with?
I usually go there with my boyfriend. Lac des fees is so beautiful, you can never get bored of it! It is also very nice with kids, especially when they spot marmots!

Galina, your favority hike?
I like to go up to Col de la Lune, the view on Mont Blanc is just wonderful! It is quite a sporty walk, with 600m of positive elevation, but it is definitely worth it! What I like most is that you can stop at Refuge de la Traye on the way back to have a well-deserved break!

And who do you go to?
Anyone who likes to walk as it is a 4h-walk round-trip but you can enjoy a stop at refuge de la Traye and the path is pretty easy. In winter, you can get there with snowshoes!

What about you Perrine? Where would you go?
I would choose  Col du Fruit, I love the quietness of this trail at the heart of Tueda reserve. The climb is quite hard (900m of positive elevation) but once you are up there, you forget everything. If you are too tired to go back down, just keep walking towards Pas du Lac lift and go back down with the lift!

See the trail map.

Who do you take up there then?
You need to be in good shape and to like the effort so choose your friends accordingly!
