Meribel's ski area has never stopped evolving to always propose more comfort and accessibility to all skiers and this year will be no different.

Gondola lift Plattieres 3 leaves its place to Chairlft Bouquetin

Meribel has offered its farewell to the mythical gondola lift Plattieres 3 and its vintage tag-covered gondolas! It will thus be replaced by the Bouquetin (alpine ibex), a 6-seat detachable charlift.

Equipped with 37 units, the 302m high climb along the 721m will be reached in a short 2"30 ride, which makes it both fast and much more convenient to skiers.
No need to take your ski boots off to reach the Belleville valley anymore!

 




L'Eclipse, the brand-new black slope of Courchevel

The 3 Valleys are preparing to host the 2023 Ski Championships, proof is given with the creation of this brand-new black slope on Courchevel ski area. A soon mythical slope called "Eclipse".

With an average incline of 30% along the 3km covered by this slope, the best skiers will find a demanding challenge! A unique view on Le Praz and its olympic ski jump, this slope is expected to be one of the longuest of the area, in a nice forest setting.

What's new on Roc de Fer side?

Still in the idea of preparing the 2023 World's Ski Championships, Meribel has decided to replace Roc de Fer tunnels. The objective is to propose a long-term development that will benefit everyone, even after the Championships!

A good way to keep skiing while the competitors rush down the slope! 

 



A footpath to le Raffort

Out the long stairs down and up to take the gondola to Meribel! A footpath has been installed to have a smooth access: a better security for all skiers!

 
 

 

FREERIDE INFO


There are some news features for freeriders too this winter!

Vertical Xperience, the big thrill!

Go discover the steepest black slopes in the 3 Valleys!
Be carefull, they are reserved to experienced skiers.

In Meribel valley, get up to Saulire using Saulire Express to confront to the mythical Couloir Tournier and its slope which reaches up to 75% of declivity!
On Courchevel side, it is the Grand Couloir that you will brave! Get on board of the cable car of Saulire to face your challenge and go down the steepest slope of the 3 Valleys with an average declivity of 49% that reaches 85%!



A beacon-search park for the Freeride Lab

To train your off-pist skills, rush to the DVA Park of Courchevel.
A secured space located in an ungroomed area to let you have fun and try your equipment. Get to the top by foot or ski touring (15mn roughly) and, once on top, launch the beacon search and go down in the powder.

Do not forget: training can save lives!

The Piste des Animaux is changing

The well-known Piste des Animaux changes, discover alpine ibex, marmots and chamois through their scream, prints and fur.
A green slope to discover with your family.


Friendly National Park

The "Friendly National Park" in the Masse sector or Belleville valley opens and improves for its second season.A great opportunity to uncover the diversity of the fauna of Vanoise national park, learn the right moves to better respect wildlife and live up to the proposed  challengesyour friends and familly: go through the slaloms, tunnels and avoid the traps!
The most tired ones can also enjoy a well-deserved break on the terrace.


Have a break at Courchevel Moriond

The plateau opposite Brêche de Portetta in Courchevel has been redesigned to host a relaxing area. Rush there to have a break on deck chairs, pic-nic tables or take nice snaps through the photo frames. Great place to admire the view and get a sun tan on the slopes!
 



A FEW MUST-SEE VENUES


Rediscover the venues and activities that you have loved last winters.

Photo spots

Look for the 12 photo frames that are spread across the 3 Valleys: take a snap in front of the iconic Meribel logo down the open park in Mottaret or use the other photo spots at the top of Saulire or Roc de Fer.
And for group pictures, smile as you reach the top of Legends or Combes chairlifts: a picture is automatically taken. You just have to select it on the dedicated terminals: scan your skipass, confirm your email and it will be sent straight away. A must-post on social media!


The fun zones

In addition to the Pistes des animaux we have mentionned above, you can get to the Piste des Inuits to find fun entertainments, deck chairs and slides. Element Park, on top of Legends chairlift, Yéti Park on top of Combes or the Family Cool at the top of Rhodos gondola lift at Altiport are great spots for kids too. New pists in 2020
