MERIBEL OPENING DATES FOR SUMMER 2023

If the summer season is considered to start on June 13th, shops, restaurants and all activites will follow the lift opening from July 1st, 2023. In summer, you can access to the Tougnete sector (towards the Belleville valley) from Meribel center using the Tougnete gondola and chairlift; from Meribel-Mottaret side, you can use the Pas du Lac lift up to Saulire, to get access to Courchevel (lift closed on Saturdays). The lifts will close on August 25th and the resort on September 1st.

BASTILLE DAY

On July 14th, our valley celebrates Bastille day - the fete nationale -, notably in the village of Les Allues where a ball and a firework will close the day!

TOUR DE FRANCE!

If Meribel is not a host city of Tour de France this year, unlike in 2020, it will experience one of the most exciting moments of this 2023 Tour de France! Because if the neighboring resort of Courchevel will install the finish line of the 17th stage, competitors will indeed  have to go through Meribel on July 19th to reach the one-of-a-kind pass of Col de la Loze, on top of which they have already suffered back in 2020. Arriving from St Gervais, down Mont Blanc, the peloton will get to Moutiers and use Courchevel road before diverting in Le Praz towards Meribel valley, through la Tania. After going through Meribel centre, they will head to the Rond-Point-des-Pistes to start the actual road to Col de la Loze, considered one of the hardest of the Alps. Winding through the Fontanil forest, with a final climbs overpassing the 13%, there is going to be quite a show on the path! Expect a great show and an outstanding atmosphere!

"MERIBEL IN THE SKY" FORTNIGHT

Look up! No catastrophe to expect though, only great activites related to the sky and the starts! For 15 days, you will have the opportunity to learn how to create a rocket from scratch, or make your own kite or learn more about the stars during conference and observation workshops!

"ARTS AND TRADITIONS" FORTNIGHT

Mountain and culture are cellebrated during this week. Drawings, paintings, magic show, circus session, local product tastings... Come to celebrate our mountains and show off your talent during these 2 weeks. On August 5 and 6th, Les Allues is going to host the Fete a Fanfoue, THE village party everyone expects!

FEte A FanfouE

During that week end, the village of Les Allues organises its traditional village festival to celebrate local culture and traditions. Organised by Meribel tourisme and local sport and cultural associations, visitors will be able to taste and buy local products, watch the traidtional parade of floats, or attend the religious procession to Ste Appolonie. And of course, in the evening, crowd in around the ball dancefloor to party all night long.

MERIBEL TRAIL 2023

Considered as one of the greatest valley to go trail running, Meribel Sport Montagne, a local association, organises every year the Meribel Trail. And everyone can take part!

Those who only like steep climbs will enjoy themselves during the Vertical Kilometer race on August 12th. Over a short 2.6km path, climb the 1.010m to la Petite Saulire and break the record of 34mn58sec!

And for those who prefer classic trail running, no worries! There are 6 races to suit everyone's level: on Saturday, a 500m-race for the kids and a 5km-trail to discover running or walking! On Sunday, after the 2km race for the kids, the greatest distances will have their say with a 10km itinerary (D+ 650m), the 25km with 1.900m D+ and the brand-new 35km (3.040m D+). This year, they will all start from Mottaret's centre.

TOUR DE L'AVENIR

Meribel is definitely going to be a cycling destination this summer! After Tour de France in July, Meribel will host the Tour de l'Avenir on August 25th!
